Points on Power Point Presentations:
Effective Power Point slides
- First slide should be a title slide which includes: title, your name, date,it should not be timed (advance by click)
- Background colour and font must be complimentary and easy to read
- (such as yellow or white on dark blue background. Avoid use of red.)
- Limit the information to essentials
- Do Not put too much information one slide
- Information must be informative and factual
- Use effects, transitions and animation sparingly
- Use appropriate sound if it will add to the presentation
- Slides need to organized in a logical sequence
- Include a Conclusion slide to sum up your thoughts in one or two sentences
- Use the speakers note feature to assist you on each slide
Using Text
- Generally no more than 7 words a line
- Generally no more than 7 lines a slide
- Font size from 18 to 48 point
- Larger font indicates more important information
- Fancy fonts can be hard to read
- All capital words are hard to read
- Make sure text contrasts with background
- Make use of bullet points if needed
- Proof read and spell check

- This must show all resources you used in the slide show, including graphics
